装饰,使陶瓷超越了日用器皿升华为艺术。在汉语中,“文化”的词源便是由“装饰”起。这就可以见出“装饰”对于人类生活无与伦比的重要意义。陶瓷艺术的创意几乎都聚焦在“装饰”上。似乎除了釉色和纹样之外其他都是无足轻重的。你只要看看几乎所有时代的陶瓷艺术都是以它们作为标志——彩陶,印纹陶、青瓷、唐三彩,宋代官、哥、汝、定、钧五大名窑,元明清已降的青花、釉里红、斗彩、五彩、粉彩、素三彩、墨彩、珐琅彩、新彩等等。而历代陶瓷艺术的大师就是陶瓷装饰艺术的大师便是顺理成章的了。可惜的是,由于历史的原因我们已经无法知道他们的名字。
