In mid-November 2014, traces of “APEC Blue” still remained in the sky in Beijing. Across the seven time zones west, the 25th International Conference on Measurement (CGPM) is taking place in full swing in France. The congress re-elected members of the International Committee of the Metrology (CIPM) according to contributions of members, regional balances and complementarity of disciplines, thus creating a new CIPM member. Researcher Duan Yu-ning, vice president of China Institute of Metrology (hereinafter referred to as “China Metrology Institute”), was re-elected by votes of high votes after being elected as a member of the CIPM in 2010, continuing our country’s appointment as the highest governing body of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM).
