Since ancient times，humans have imagined to use automated machines to help get rid of the stress of hard work.Nowadays，thanks to the development of techniques like computer and information technology，etc.，the robot has been increasingly appearing in people's sight.Robotics is one of the major promoter of progress of the era.In the Academician Conference of Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Engineering Academy，Chairman Xi has pointed out the importance of improving the level of our robots and fully affirmed the important status of the robots as"the pearl at the top of thecrown of manufacturing".
Production process of modern industrial products has been able to be decomposed into a number of simple but sophisticated steps and also able to use precise industrial robots which can repeat the movements do it separately，hence saving manpower and resources，so that people can get relieved from the heavy，dangerous or simply duplicate works.In the area of services，robots are increasingly becoming an indispensable helper of mankind.It is no longer surprise to see robot waiters in the restaurant，while robot cooks capable of making standardized meals even beat the human ones in the"blind test"of diners.Whereas in many homes，robot sweeper，robot nanny，housekeeper robots are having all show.And the appearance of robot psychologists，care and assistive robots will provide more and more help for those"empty nest"old people，children lack of care or people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups，offering companionship and help in every possible way.In addition，in the medical and hospital，fire rescue，sewage cleaning and other areas of our lives，robots are increasingly presenting its advantages.
The purposes people invented robots，first of all，is to relieve mankind from simple，repetitive or boring，heavy and dangerous work；secondly，is to expand people's ability by making robots complete those works humans are not willing or able to do in the past，such as those in the sky，in the sea or those remote and intangible works that are unreachable or out of sight；thirdly，is to expect considerable robots help to provide various services，like offering medical care，taking care of the elderly or children，etc..
Advances in artificial intelligence will give robots more intelligent.According to Moore's Law，increasing improvement of computer calculation speed and progress in brain science，neuroscience，genomics and life sciences is uncovering the secret of human brains as well as human life from both the micro and macro perspective.Overseas，there are research on"When the human-level machine intelligence is about to be achieved".In the research，90% of respondents chose the year 2075 and even 10% said it would be the year 2022.Though the saying that machine intelligence will be equal to or even go beyond human one is remains controversial，the machine intelligence will undoubtedly become closer to human's.Even a robot with a childlike intelligence will be profound enough to afrect our society. Since the emergence of human society，people have been constantly inventing tools and machines to expand and extend human capabilities.Certain capabilities of the robot，such as computing speed，memory and power have already gone beyond people.The combination of artificial intelligence，the Internet，and networking technology，will also provide a powerful "brain"for the future robots，which is stored on the cloud，jointly developed，created and maintained by a number of researchers and users，forming a great success of individual wisdom.It will make robots more powerful and better serve the human community，every family and every person.
Obviously，making robots creative might be the highest expectation of human kind，but it could be a wish in the heaven，for it is already hard for human beings to figure out their own brains.
