豆科作物接种根瘤菌,可以促进豆科作物根部结瘤,增强固氮作用,从而使鲜草或籽粒产量提高,获得增产效果。同时还可以减少化肥用量,培肥地力。近几年来,由于根瘤菌研究工作的深入,选育和引进一些优良菌种,根瘤菌的生产和应用得到了较快的发展。例如,辽宁省目前大豆、花生根瘤菌应用面积保持在100万亩以上;1984年河北、黑龙江、江苏等省大豆(或花生)根瘤菌应用面积都达到了几十万亩;广东、湖北荆州地区、湖北咸宁市、新疆阿克苏地区等
