武陵山片区主要涵盖湖南、湖北、重庆、贵州4个省71个县(市、区),区域总面积达17.18万平方公里,总人口3645万,世居着土家族、苗族、侗族、回族等9个少数民族。片区经济规模偏小、基础设施较差、人民生活水平不高,是典型的老、少、边、穷地区。片区内的交通基础设施,受特殊地理条件等客观因素影响还相当落后,已经成为制约该区域经济社会发展的主要“瓶颈”之一。构建片区立体交通体系,应该作为推动武陵山片区区域发展与扶贫攻坚过程中率先实施的战略任务之一。一、武陵山片区的交通现状随着经济社会发展步伐的不断加快,
The Wuling Mountain Area covers 71 counties (cities and districts) in 4 provinces of Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing and Guizhou. The total area of the Wuling Mountain Area is 171,800 square kilometers with a total population of 36.45 million. The area is home to Tujia, Miao, Dong and Hui nationalities 9 ethnic minorities. Area economy is small, poor infrastructure, people’s living standards are not high, is typical of the old, less, the edge and poor areas. The traffic infrastructure in the area is still quite backward due to the objective factors such as special geographical conditions. It has become one of the major “bottlenecks” restricting the economic and social development in the region. Establishing a three-dimensional traffic system in the area should be one of the strategic tasks to be implemented first in promoting the development of the Wuling Mountain area and tackling crucial problems in helping the poor.
