Since the Mediterranean model of Braudel was proposed in the mid-20th century, the study of maritime history has gradually become an ideal type that has been followed by many scholars. For half a century, the academic enthusiasm for maritime history has not diminished but has been rising . In recent decades, the waters of Asia have become the test ground for the Mediterranean model and research on the Asian oceans has become a hot spot. In a sense, most of the major works are influenced and inspired by the Mediterranean paradigm of Brothers. However, some post-colonialist and globalized ideological spheres have played a role in fueling this trend. Some historical features have been formed in the Indian Ocean-dominated historical research . The purpose of this essay is to sort out the pedigree and context, framework and paradigm of the Indian Ocean history and try to provide some new perspectives and ideas.
