本文从词源学的角度,对“西康”一词进行了严谨而细致的考证,并在阅读大量文献典籍的基础上,对西康的地域范围及近代发展沿革作了清晰的辨析。此外,本文还通过对西康、西藏学术史研究的回顾和比较,认为在西藏备受国内外学界关注的同时,作为连接西藏与内地桥梁的西康,却一向为学界所忽视。由于西康近代史研究具有重要的学术文化价值、社会经济意义和现实政治意义,进行西康近代社会史研究应是大有可为的。
From the perspective of etymology, this essay conducts a rigorous and meticulous examination of the term “Xikang”, and on the basis of reading a large number of documents and books, it makes a clear distinction between Xikang’s geographical scope and the development of modern history. In addition, through the review and comparison of Xikang and Tibet academic history research, this dissertation holds that Xikang, a bridge between Tibet and the Mainland, has always been neglected by academia while Tibet has received much attention from domestic and foreign scholars. Due to the important academic and cultural value, socio-economic significance and practical political significance of the study of modern history of Xikang, it is worthwhile to study the history of modern society in Xikang.
