Objective To investigate the role of anxiolytic drug doxepin in the treatment of non-erosive reflux disease (NERD). Methods Ninety-six patients with NERD combined with anxiety were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 48 cases in each group. The control group was given gastric motility and acid suppression therapy. The treatment group was combined with anxiolytic therapy. Two groups of patients before and after treatment anxiety self-rating scale (SAS) score, and calculate the NERD symptom score, the efficacy and score of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate was 85.5% (41/48) in the treatment group and 77.7% (27/48) in the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (χ2 = 7.68, P <0.05). The symptom scores and SAS scores of the treatment group were significantly better than those of the control group (P <0.05). The treatment group SAS score was significantly lower, while the control group did not change significantly. Conclusion Anxiolytic therapy can significantly improve reflux symptoms and anxiety symptoms in patients with NERD and anxiety.
