关于“天人关系”的理论是中国思想文化史中的重要内容之一。然而 ,自西周以来 ,中国思想文化史上只有体现经验理性的“天人之分”思想 ,而不存在所谓“人定胜天”的论说。以往论者认为荀子、王充、柳宗元、刘禹锡等人是阐述“人定胜天”思想的代表人物 ,这其实是对他们有关论述的误读和歪曲。自本世纪初以来 ,特别是新中国建国以来“人定胜天”口号的走红 ,固有其特定的原因或某种意义上的现实作用 ,但这并不能就说明其就是正确的。事实上 ,“人定胜天”思想是神话思维和现代政治激情相互作用的产物 ,它在理论上是错误的 ,在实践中也为害不浅。学术界人士所以误读 ,除了附庸政治的原因外 ,还在于没有辨清“天”、“胜”等概念的涵义。新中国建国以来的辞书 (包括最为权威的各种新老版本的《辞源》、《辞海》、《汉语大辞典》等 )关于这一辞条的引证均系误读曲解 ,就是明证。现在 ,这一错误仍未得到纠正
The theory of “relationship between man and nature” is one of the important contents in the history of Chinese thought and culture. However, since the Western Zhou Dynasty, in the history of Chinese thought and culture, there has been only the “division of the subject between man and nature” that embodies empiric rationality, and there is no argument that the so-called “man wins the victory”. In the past, Xunzi, Wang Chong, Liu Zongyuan, Liu Yuxi and others were the representatives who elaborated on the idea that “people will prevail in the sky”. This is actually a misreading and distortion of their related discourse. Since the beginning of this century, especially since the founding of People’s Republic of China, the popularity of the slogan of “people’s ascension” has its own specific reasons or some realistic effect. However, this does not mean that it is correct. In fact, the idea that “people are determined to win the sky” is the product of the interaction between mythological thinking and the passion of modern politics. It is theoretically wrong and does no harm in practice. Therefore, misunderstood by academics, apart from the reasons for the vassal politics, lies the fact that there is no definition of the concepts such as “heaven” and “victory.” Since the founding of new China’s dictionaries (including the most authoritative new and old version of “Ci Yuan”, “Cihai”, “Chinese Dictionary”, etc.) on the quotation are misinterpreted misinterpretation is proof.
