Methods Raise 55 questions on the basics of blood, blood products and clinical applications. The questionnaire was distributed through the regions designated by the Canadian Blood Transfusion Medicine Association. Some questionnaires are distributed through postal lists, others through hospitals. Some 2,000 questionnaires, including about 500 French-language questionnaires, were distributed. A total of 294 questionnaires were collected and the answers were categorized as “correct”, “wrong”, “unanswered” or “additional explanation”. A total of 52% of the answers were correct or qualified. 63% of the clinical transfusion practice questions are correct or qualified. 37% of the basic knowledge questions are correct.
