In order to investigate the significance of detection of telomerase activity in exfoliated cells of urinary bladder cancer on the diagnosis and postoperative follow-up of bladder cancer, the telomerase activity of bladder cancer exfoliated cells in bladder cancer tissues and natural urination was detected by TRAP silver staining. Staining method for cytology of exfoliated cells. Of 45 bladder cancer patients, telomerase activity was found in 44 tumor tissues (97.8%), telomerase activity was found in 29 exfoliated urine cells (64.4%), and in 14 exfoliated urine cells ( 31 1%). The telomerase activity in exfoliated cells was significantly better than that in cytology (P <0 05). The positive rate of exfoliated cells was significantly increased with the degree of differentiation and the clinicopathologic stage (P <0 01) 0 5). However, none of the 10 cases of non-bladder cancer were tested positive. The results showed that the detection of telomerase activity of natural urination is simple, sensitive and specific, which is expected to be the first choice for the diagnosis and follow-up of bladder cancer.
