吉林大学的姜汉成、高长瑾等发表在《材料工程》1992(1)上的文章说,他们用自制的振动切削金属纤维增强陶瓷材料,试制出具有透气特性的陶瓷复合材料并用于真空吸塑模具中,效果良好。这类复合材料是用一定量的氧化铝、氧化硅、莫来石等陶瓷粉与Fe、Ni、Cr等金属粉充分混合后,再混合过量不锈钢短纤维,以具有挥发性的硅溶胶为粘合剂,调合成均匀的浆糊状流体,注入所要做的各种形状的容器中,待硬化后取出干燥,再烧结而成。长春第一汽车厂用这种模具生产的轿车装饰塑料件,已用在奥迪轿车上,质量基本达到进口件水平。
