The first part of this article discusses the characterization and calculation of the components of the cylinder head sealing system (supplied by REINZ Co., Ltd.). The article pointed out that the screw fastening method and the cylinder head gasket on the sealing system of a tightening and dynamic characteristics have an impact. This section describes the tightening of the seal system during assembly, taking into account the effects of component pressure changes and thermal expansion. The tightness of the seal system during engine operation is discussed in detail. In this paper, an Open-Deck-Motors with a monolithic cylinder head structure is taken as an example to show how to adopt a relatively simple static test method to obtain the characteristics of a sealing system during assembly or operation.
