On January 1, 1987, China Radio International set up a Chinese language teaching festival “Learn Chinese” in Lao Radio. February 21 The second session of the International Chinese Teaching Committee was established. From February 28 to March 19, the Association for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language of China Institute of Chinese as a Foreign Language and the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Center of Peking University co-sponsored a training course on teaching Chinese as a second language to foreign students at Peking University. Nearly 40 out of 29 institutions of higher learning Chinese teachers participated in the training.
