Objective To compare the short-term internal fixation rate of two different inlays of vital pulp and to analyze the causes. Methods From January 2011 to June 2012, 1039 patients treated in the outpatient of Stomatology Center of Qingdao Municipal Hospital were treated with 5 doctors, and 1104 metal inlays were restored. Within 6 to 24 months after the end of the repair, clinical follow-up observation method was used to statistically analyze the rate of shedding and analyze its causes. Results Both extinction rates of type II and type II caves were higher than those of type I caves (both Ni-Cr alloy and gold-palladium alloy inlays) (P <0.05) No statistical significance (P> 0.05). The main reason for the metal inlay shedding is non-standard hole preparation. CONCLUSIONS: In short term, the rate of metal inlay of Class II posterior cavity pulp is higher than that of Class I holes. However, the choice of metal material may not be related to the rate of shedding. Metal inlay short-term fall off with the preparation of non-standard hole closely related.
