You can not see a plastic toy, a children’s puzzle board, or a common reading picture for children and other children’s books when you step into the classroom of Stanley 1 Preschool in York, England. On the contrary, there are only rotating wheels, wooden benches, large stumps and many branches. There are woodworking tools and a large box of children’s costumes. All the facilities in the classroom, from sturdy wooden tables to wicker stools and many other toys, are made of natural materials. Classroom walls are painted on the quiet and soft colors, surrounded by a variety of flowers and plants. “There is almost no ready-made toy in our kindergarten, ” says Jon Rose. “The aim is to encourage children to use their imagination to discover and creatively apply everything in the classroom. ”
