Researchers at Kyungpook University in the United States report in the International Journal of Obesity that long-term weight loss can easily lead industrial pollutants into the blood and cause diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers studied 1,099 participants in the United States, including monitoring their weight and diet, as well as the concentration of seven industrial pollutants in the bloodstream. The results showed that those who had the largest weight loss in the past 10 years had the highest concentration of compounds in the blood, collectively referred to as “POPs.” The researchers said these contaminants are usually stored in fat tissue
