在亚洲,联邦德国的电影是颇为卖座的。但在联邦德国国内,不但电影业的复兴无从谈起,反而是日趋没落。进入七十年代以后,电影不再是联邦德国大众最主要的娱乐活动了。过去那些富丽堂皇的电影院都呈现出一片破落败坏的景象,曾经有着漂亮豪华走廊的入口处现在只残留下了大门,五颜六色的霓虹灯和巨大的电影广告画已属鲜见。走进电影院里面,录像游戏的合成音乐响成一片,很多电影院的大厅都这样变成了游戏场,要是还有去电影院的青少年,那便是游戏在吸引着他们。五十、六十年代是联邦德国电影的鼎盛时代,那时电影院人满为患,华丽的大厅,装有闪闪发亮的大幕,开映时响起悠扬的钟声,放映一场电影宛如举行一个隆重的典礼。然而,
