《诗·氓》中“复关”一语，旧注或训关隘之关，或训地名，皆以处所为释。又有以为氓之“托号”，亦即借代者。而据旧籍及本诗上下文意，终难成为的诂。是以高亨先生释之为“返回的车”。案前引诸说俱非，今据《周礼·秋官·条粮氏》“誓大夫曰敢不关，鞭五百”并注及《史记》、《汉书》注，此“关”乃“关说”、“头白”、“关由”、“关通”之关，其义略同于“通告”，亦并与今语之“回答”、“回话”、“答复”、“诸义相近①。是本诗之”复关”亦当以此为释。覆按旧籍，此类例证尚多，今特援举以证成其说。
