南农晚粳型杂交稻无性系是短日性强的感光性早熟晚粳或迟熟中粳,而不是短日性弱的感温性杂交稻。连续15天长日条件就可使短日诱导效应完全彻底解除。 在该稻茬上业已分化的顶端分生组织,在越冬冷床中抽穗。我们在来年春季利用它们产生更多的分蘖作为繁殖材料,而不用它们形成产量。所以该无性系不同于再生稻。 稻茬上,冬季或冬后所产生的顶端原始分生组织,其光周期发育能被来年夏季的长日条件所解除,并且必须在来年夏末初秋重新诱导。所以,二年生或多年生无性系,它们的抽穗期在长江下游各县都非常整齐。
Nannongyue japonica hybrid rice clones are short-day sensitive early maturing japonica rice or late maturing japonica rice, rather than short-term weak sense of temperature-sensitive hybrid rice.
