Objective To investigate the effects of EMG and MOTOmed training on the muscle tension of lower extremities in stroke patients with hemiplegia. Methods 72 patients with stroke were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 18) by factorial design. MOTOmed training group, EMG-EMG group (EMG group), and EMG-SOT combined with MOTOmed training group (combination group). Before and after treatment, Fugl-Meyer score and functional walking (FAC) score respectively. Statistical analysis using factorial design of the multi-factor analysis of variance. Results The Fugl-Meyer score and FAC score of each group before treatment did not differ significantly (P> 0.05). After treatment, Fugl-Meyer score and FAC score of lower extremities in stroke patients were significantly higher in MOTOmed group and EMG group (P <0.05) ). Using EMG-triggered electrical stimulation, there was interaction between MOTOmed training and Fugl-Meyer score and FAC score (P <0.05). Conclusions EMG-triggered electrical stimulation combined with MOTOmed training can reduce the muscle tension in patients with stroke and play synergistic effect.
