The first seven laws of Lu Xun were written in 1931 and were written by five left-wing writers, such as Rou Shi, who mourned the tragedy of the Kuomintang reactionaries. After Chiang Kai-shek mutinied the revolution in 1927, white terror was spreading across the country. While carrying out large-scale military “encirclement and suppression” campaigns against the Central Revolutionary Base, the Kuomintang reactionaries launched a “encirclement and suppression campaign” of culture. Their brutality and shame were appalling. They used secret agents to smash progressive cultural groups and bookstores, banned progressive literature books and wanted writers. In the end, they used the most cruel means to arrest, imprison and secretly kill the left-wing writers.
