Hu Shih’s thoughts have aroused widespread controversy in modern China. The author of Hu Shi and the Chinese Renaissance carefully analyzed the ideological characteristics of Hu Shi during the first half of his life so that the readers could understand more thoroughly the characteristics of his thoughts.
