出版界有关人员认为外语图书差错率普遍高于中文图书，本文就此探果其中原因并提出改进意见。作者认为，差错率较高的原因是；在同样开本的页码上用同样字号排版，外语的印刷符号是中文的两倍；外语有一个大小写问题；外语图书出版过程中的有关人员如作者、编辑、审校、打字员等人的外语水平都大大低于母语水平，这些都相应地增加了出差错的概率．减少差错的办法是；提倡敬业精神，提高相关人员的外语水平；打字员相对固定；电脑校对与人工校对相结合。这样必然能减少差错，从而编出合格的、优良的外语图书。
Relevant personnel in the publishing industry think that the error rate of foreign language books is generally higher than that of Chinese books. This article explores the causes and puts forward suggestions for improvement. The author believes that the reason for the higher error rate is that: in the same page number on the page with the same typesetting, the foreign language printing symbol is twice the Chinese; foreign language has a case; the foreign language book publishing process, such as the author, The foreign language proficiency of editors, reviewers, typists and others is much lower than that of their mother tongue, which in turn increases the probability of mistakes. The way to reduce the error is: promote professionalism, improve the level of foreign language proficiency; typewriter is relatively fixed; computer proofing and manual proofing combination. This will inevitably reduce errors, thus compiling qualified and excellent foreign language books.
