This article presents recent research on the use of sulfur-treated bamboo in road construction. The basic engineering characteristics of bamboo stem, including elastic modulus, compressive strength and tensile strength, as well as the interaction between bamboo and water, were discussed and excerpted. The properties and durability of the structural bamboo structures were tested. At last, it puts forward the field application method that bamboo reinforced earth is used in low traffic road to prevent collapse. Building roads, generally require a large number of materials. Given that economic considerations are one of the main determinants, it is necessary to test alternative or inexpensive materials that can be used in road construction.
