有一类虽经河水搬运、磨蚀却未见圆润卵状的玉石,其块体球度、圆度不如籽玉,但能自然形成各种物象,这类玉石称为“山流水”。此件玉石,体量中等,裸地温润,色泽青翠,通体剔透,内散白絮,包浆沉凝。经笔者鉴定,其外表具有新疆和田青玉“山流水”的特征。不难发现此件玉石错落有致的结构,细细品鉴,构形分为左右两部分:左侧呈璋台状,台面宽阔,趋势平坦,边缘圆润,无遮无拦,给人一种空旷、深邃的视觉感受;右侧顶面,渐高隆起,勾勒成规矩的圆弧状,且转折处逐渐收敛,形成一个空间适度的避雨崖。整体呈左低右高、左平右鼓的造势,随着对两处块面的相互对照,演化出一幅辽远清幽的《翠岭春江》图。
