在20世纪50年代之前,中国古玩界有一错误的“共识”——“元代无青花”。纠正这一误识的,不是中国人,而是两名外国人,一是英国的中国古瓷专家霍布森,一是美国的中国古瓷专家波普。他们纠错的主要根据,是1929年从北京古刹智化寺流失到伦敦大维德中国艺术基金会的两件铭有“至正十一年”(1351年)的青花云龙纹象耳瓶,即世人皆知的元青花标准器——“至正瓶”。然而,半个多世纪过去了,元代青花虽然得到普遍公认,并受到国际社会的推崇,对“至正瓶”的介绍和研究,却仅仅仍然停留在照抄照转霍布森和波普的结论,或者在霍布森和波普文章的基础上附会演绎。更有甚者,以讹传讹,美化倒卖这两件文物的华夏民族的千古罪人。至于这两件文物的烧制者是谁,在何地烧造,以及为什么供奉到京都智化寺,又因何故流失到英国?诸如此类谜团,从未涉及。本文作者根据先辈的鲜为人知的历史资料,并经过国内国外实地考察,首先披露了一系列与元青花标准器——“至正瓶”相关的秘密。
