位于珠江三角洲中部的小揽镇,是中山市北部重镇,全镇总面积71平方公里,其中城区面积9.3平方公里,常住人口15万人,另外还有外来劳工数万人。镇政府下辖4个城区办事处,17个村委会,水陆交通十分方便,广珠公路、珠湛公路横贯全境,设有直达港澳的货物进出口码头、口岸。 改革开放以来,在镇委、镇政府的正确领导下,小榄在经济建设、城乡建设以及精神文明建设方面都取得了显著的成绩。
