活跃在连罗地区的闽东工农红军13独立团的前身是“中国工农红军闽中第一支队”。1934年1月2日支队政委杨而菖在解放马鼻镇的战斗中不幸牺牲,中共连江中心县委为了更好领导革命斗争,在透堡召开紧急会议,决定在闽东工农游击第13总队基础上扩编为闽东工农红军(连罗)第13独立团,魏耿(后叛变)为独立团团长,陈祥榕为政委,杨采衡为参谋长。扩编后,部队随即由魏耿、陈祥榕、杨采衡等带领开往罗(罗源)
The predecessor of the 13th Independent Detachment of Fujian’s Workers ’and Peasants’ Red Army, active in the area of Linuo, was the “First Detachment of the Red Army in Central China in the Red Army of Workers and Peasants”.
