矿区地质特征银家沟矿区地处豫西,是中原地区的一个大型硫铁矿.区内印支晚期的酸性小岩体(钾长花岗斑岩)侵入震旦系上统巡检司组及龙家园组白云岩.由于受构造控制的岩浆期后含矿热液的活动,交代了白云岩,在岩体内部、接触带内及其附近的围岩中,形成了深部的黄铁矿、磁铁矿、菱铁矿等盲矿体.在地表也有不同特征的多种金属矿化.含矿层均以白云岩为顶、底板,或作为夹石层.

Due to the tectono-controlled activity of the ore-bearing hydrothermal fluids after the magmatic period, the dolomite was interpreted and the deep pyrite formed in and around the rock mass, the surrounding rock in and around the contact zone , Magnetite, siderite and other blind ore bodies in the surface also have different characteristics of a variety of metal mineralization.All of the ore-bearing layers are dolomite as the roof, floor, or as a layer of gravel.
