显示技术仍是目前PC个人电脑多媒体领域中最为活跃的一种。展望目前电脑的各种配件,CPU市场由Intel掌控大局,用户面对日益增长的频率数字似乎再也感觉不到当年频率提升所带来的性能的飞跃;音频市场除了大部分消费者选择的板载声卡,独孤求败的创新占据了其它大部分的市场份额;内存,硬盘更是如此,除了容量的慢慢提升,现在也没有令人振奋的新技术被采用。而反观显示技术,自从Voodoo显卡将电脑的视觉世界从2D时代带入3D时代以来,其发展的速度似乎就一直没有减慢,这多少也是拜ATi与nVIDIA两家实力相当的竞争对手所赐。
