皖北黄泛区发育在黄泛淤积物上的土壤,是各种类型的耕种淤积浅色草甸土,群众称之为“淤土”,其分布遍及宿县、滁县及阜阳三个专区的十九个县市,土层深厚、土质肥沃,是皖北粮棉的主要生产基地。 皖北属华北季风半湿润气候区,黄泛淤积物在当地生物气候影响下,在排水良好的岗地上,可发育为地带性土壤——褐土。但大部平原地区由于排水不甚通畅,地下水在土壤剖面中经常上下运行,产生草甸过程,而且多为农田,因此土被多属耕种淤积浅色草甸土(表1)。

Northern Anhui is a sub-humid monsoon climate zone in North China. Under the influence of local bioclimatic conditions, the Yellow River sediments can develop into zonal soil-cinnamon soil on well-drained posts. However, most of the plains area is not smooth due to drainage, groundwater often up and down in the soil profile up and down, resulting in meadow processes, and mostly farmland, so the soil is mostly cultivated light siltation meadow soil (Table 1).
