It has been reported that the circadian rhythm (24-hour cycle) of the opening and closing of a plant leaf and the movement of protozoa changes due to the absorption of ethanol. The author recently published the first report of such changes in human beings. The authors observed the status of alcohol poisoning patients who had been drinking for more than 10 years during the alcohol off-period and found irregular rhythms of fast-wave sleep, body temperature, ACTH (adrenocorticotrophic hormone), and corticosteroid secretion, After a few months. This change is not found in healthy students who drink alcohol nightly in a week. So that the above changes are caused by the chronic toxicity of alcohol. The authors found that abnormalities in the circadian rhythm of alcoholism during alcohol consumption are very similar to those seen in patients with endogenous depression. The author’s observation is only a partial clinical manifestations of alcoholism in patients with depression, but as men continue to drink more than 10 years of secondary depression easily (women in a shorter period of time to drink easily also disease), so the study of alcohol The rhythm of organism and the etiology of depression are of great significance. Here’s a brief look at the author’s findings.
