对于印度支那地区的植物种类,因已进行过调查,所以比之对当地的植被类型较为了解。迄今所出版的刊物只是研究了当地的植物地理。对这个气候和地形变化极大的地区上的森林类型试求进行全面的研究还为时过早。然而在本文中向读者介绍我在该地极有限的范围——老挝,那里的森林构造占优势地位——的观察结果是有意义的。由于老挝同其邻国或其他热带地区有很多相似之处,因而本文更有普遍意义。
Plant species in the Indochina area are more well-known than the type of vegetation in the area, as investigations have been conducted. The publications published so far have only examined the local plant geography. It is premature to conduct a comprehensive study of the types of forests in this climate and terrain where the terrain is very variable. However, it is interesting in this article to give the reader an insight into the observations I have made in the very limited area of the area - Laos, where the forest structure is dominant. Because of the many similarities between Laos and its neighbors or other tropical regions, this article is more universal.
