Sweden’s Volvo Motor Company has succeeded in charging the battery with a gasoline engine in a newly designed hybrid engine that energizes the drive motor and opens up new hopes for the use of the combustion engine. Volkswagen’s environmental concept car (ECC) is actually based on the Volvo 850. Using a hybrid engine as the driving force, the maximum speed of 100 miles per hour (160.9 km), continuous travel 415 miles without the need for energy supplements. At 55 miles per hour, its fuel consumption is 2.2 gallons per 100 miles (6.25 liters per 100 kilometers), all of which meet the 1993 U.S.
