The emergence of farming is one of the most important revolutions in human history. It is also the first great leap forward in productive forces since the founding of mankind. Its significance and impact on the historical process of mankind is enormous and far-reaching. For more than a century, the origin of farming has been a major research topic of common concern and attention by historians and archaeologists. However, for a long time, there is a popular view that “agriculture originated in the great river basins.” This view has been popular in academic circles in foreign countries until the 1960s and even in our academic circles even today. Based on recent archaeological materials, this article attempts to explore the origin of the farming in West Asia.
