The heart has long been considered a radiation insensitive organ, and radiotherapy often neglects its protection. However, recent studies reveal that cardiac radiation damage can not be ignored. Postoperative radiotherapy of breast cancer patients may cause cardiac radiation damage, especially the risk of ischemic heart disease, thus affecting the patient’s long-term survival and quality of life [1]. This article summarizes the radiation therapy of breast cancer at home and abroad in the study of radioactive heart damage, hoping to help breast cancer radiotherapy in the work of heart protection
