The Puebla-Oaxaca Valley of Mexico is located in the lush mountains of Central America, including the two valleys of Oaxaca and Tehuacan. Here is the birthplace of Central American agriculture, but also the ideal laboratory for the study of the formation of Central American civilization. Several agencies from Mexico, Germany, Canada and the United States have been working in this area for many years, providing a great deal of basic information for further research. This article focuses on the site catchment of the two valleys in Oaxaca and Tehuacan using the inductive approach that was abandoned by the pioneers of the new archeology.
