二硫化钼常伴隨黄銅鑛共生,雖然數量不多,但因它是能够製造高抵抗合金的有價金屬,所以銅選鑛廠應將銅精鑛中共浮的钼鑛加以分離。其分離方法一般採用水蒸氣氧化法,間或使用焙燒法。選鑛科研究室對這二種方法都曾進行試驗,加以比較,得到初步結果。證明採用水蒸氣氧化法的分離銅钼的優點在於當選銅由浮選机得出產物時,即可通蒸氣氧化,洗鑛後即可分離,中間雖有週轉,但一個系統可以完成操作;缺點是須經数次洗鑛手續,所佔容積過大,用水量和燃煤量都多,太不經濟。採用焙燒法的優點在於氧化澈底,而迅速簡便,佔地位面積小,所以適於不易抑制的銅鑛和水源不充分的廠地:缺點是須行兩次精鑛濃縮乾燥,即必須兩個系統才能完成操作,而且焙燒溫度尤須控制得當,否则容易跑銅。现將試驗情况發表,希望當前進行銅钼分離的選鑛廠根據实際情况,確定採用某一方法。至於既可避免水蒸汽法的缺點,又可避免兩個系統操作的沸騰還原法,選鑛科研究室正在設計研究中。
