This article reviews the current status and trends in the field of polymer-based curing field monitoring sensors, which have long been used and often compensated with other sensors to increase real-time information on chemical rheology during curing. The sensor is currently common, but its capacity is limited when it comes to transporting information on the molecular solidification process.An interesting new trend is the use of IR transmission fiber optic sensors because of the extremely rich information contained in the infrared spectrum. Infrared spectrometry is the most promising method for curing on-site monitoring, and its application lies in the availability of fiber in the far-infrared and far-infrared transmission. The article discusses the current status of chalcogenide and halide infrared transmission fiber technology.
