笔者结合我院首次开设《学校健康教育》选修课的初步实践,阐述了对于在学校体育教育专业开设健康教育课的必要住、可靠性和有关教学问题的认识和体会.认为:在青年学生中普及和加强健康教育是时代的呼唤,符合我国社会主义精神文明、物质文明建设的需要,符合增强人民体质、提高民族素质的需要,体现了现代社会教育和卫生事业发展的趋势;进行健康教育可以促进学生德、智、体的全面发展;体育与健康教育相结合是我国学校体育改革的一项重要内容,作为中学体育教师,不仅自己应当懂得健康教育,而且应当能够向中学生进行健康教育,这是学校体育改革新形势对体育教育专业学生提出的新的培养要求。开设健康教育课符合体育教育专业当前教学改革的需要与可能.开课的基本教学条件可以解决.在第一轮教学实践取得了较好效果。笔者对于课程名称、教学目标、教学基本内容以及有关的教学安排、要求等提出了看法和建议。
