周敦颐之《太极图说》上承《学》、《庸》的思路 ,用天人一道来论证圣人何以“定之以中正仁义而主静”的道德修养原理 ;强调“主静”的修养功夫 ,认为无欲才能静 ,将解决人欲问题做为道德修养之要点。这些奠定了理学修养论的基本思路和强调节制人欲服从天理的基本内容。学界认为周氏“主静”说“排除了修养” ,是一种误解 ;不能正视宋儒克制人欲说所包含的对于道德修养的实际意义 ,也是片面的
