中国林科院林研所、临沂市林业局及农牧渔业局协作在山东临沂市建立了农林牧结合的杨树栽培体制,三年来的中间试验显示出巨大的生产潜力。最近杨叶饲用中间试验在临沂市通过了技术鉴定。农林牧结合的杨树栽培体制在造林初期2~3年实行农林间作;林木郁闭后实行林牧结合,在林下利用杨树叶喂畜禽。平原农区大面积的杨树速生丰产林在提供高额的木材产量的同时,也产出大量的其他生物量(叶、枝、树皮和根)。杨叶已被证实是一种有营养价值的饲料来源,在地少人多、资源有限的平原农区,杨叶资源的合理开发利用,对发展林业、促进畜牧业和农村经济的发展,都有重要意义。
