Objective To estimate the radiation dose of radiofluoro-18-deoxyglucose used for positron emission tomography (PET / CT) examinations to patients and radiation workers. Methods The PET / CT center of a tertiary level hospital was selected as the object of study. The dose of patients and radiation workers was estimated using the report of the Committee on Internal Medicine Irradiation Committee No. 19 and the American Medical Physicists Association No. 108. Results The systemic effective dose was 5.28 mSv. The highest absorbed dose of bladder was 40.5 mGy. The lowest absorbed dose of red bone marrow and gonad was 6.1 mGy. Exposure dose, placement and injection of radiation workers were 3.48,0.64,0.20 mSv. Conclusion PET / CT examination should follow the principle of practical legitimacy, further optimize the dosage of patients, and establish a sound radiation protection system to strengthen the skills training of radiation workers.
