研究世界地震,编纂一本世界历史地震目录是不可少的内容,可惜国内尚无一本这样的目录。近年来,编者因研究地震和地球动力学关系的需要,平时接触到一些零碎的资料,以留心积累。闻地震学会即将召开震级会议后,又查阅到一批资料,作些分析对照和计算,将十九世纪的地震目录匆匆整理成文,以供参加会议的代表们参考,指正。
It is an indispensable part to study the earthquakes in the world and compile a catalog of earthquakes in the world history. Unfortunately, there is no such catalog in China. In recent years, due to the need to study the relationship between earthquakes and geodynamics, editors often come into contact with some piecemeal materials to accumulate their attention. After hearing the Seismological Society about to hold a magnitude conference, a batch of information was consulted to analyze and calculate some of the data. The catalog of earthquakes of the 19th century was hurriedly collated for reference and correction by the delegates attending the conference.
