江西省精神病院位于南昌市美丽的湖滨花园一隅。是一所精神科、心理科、老年科、戒毒科等多学科并存的大型精神卫生专科医院。医院在治疗精神分裂症、情感性障碍、脑器质性精神障碍、老年性痴呆、散发性脑炎、癫痫病、儿童多动症、反映性精神病、神经症、性心理障碍等疑难重症方面有独到之处。其专业成果曾获卫生部二等奖、南昌市科技成果三等奖。是江西精神卫生专业的医教研中心、江西医学院、江西中医学院的教学医院。
