Acoustic and magnetostatic channelization Acoustic and magnetostatic waves propagating on the surface or in the body of low loss single crystal materials are used for acoustic and magnetostatic channel machines, respectively. Because these waves are several orders of magnitude slower than free-space electromagnetic waves, channel machines using these technologies can be miniaturized. Phase information can be maintained with acoustic and magnetostatic channel machines.
