每个民族的语言背后都蕴含着各自独特的文化,要实现语言的交际功能,除掌握一定的词汇和必要的语音、语法知识外,还必须重视语言的文化背景知识。这就要求英语教师在教学中一定要注意英汉两种语言及文化的对比,在训练和提高学生语言水平的同时,应有意识地注重培养学生用英语进行跨文化交际的能力,把语言教学和文化导入有机结合起来,以此来拓宽学生的文化视角,本文试图从不同的角度分析了培养学生的文化意识的重要性和在实际教学活动中的一些具体做法。
