“Discourse right”, “aphasia”, “internationalization” is the fashionable words. In 2004, when the 11th Beijing International Book Fair was about to open, the three fashionable terms first started to gather. Speaking of the Expo, let us first review the situation of copyright trade in Chinese books: From 1990 to 2000, ten years, the number of copyright trade of books through our publishing houses exceeded 30,900, of which more than 25,700 titles were imported and more than 5,100 titles were exported . In terms of the ratio of imports to exports, the overall ratio in ten years is 5: 1. The latest official data shows that in 2003 China imported 12516 copyright items and exported 811 copyright items. In the international book copyright market, Chinese publishing is in a state of “aphasia.” This is an era of “internationalization.” Right to speak is more important because of internationalization. “Aphasia” is especially terrible. Facing the Beijing International Book Fair, we have to compete for our own right to speak Chinese.
