2011年12月10日,东风公司迎来了其自主品牌汽车100万辆下线,同时东风公司展示其全系列自主创新成果,从商用车到乘用车,从军车到新能源汽车,让参观者目不暇接。面对这些丰硕的成果,东风公司总经理朱福寿认为,这是东风自主创新精神的一种体现,自主是东风之根,创新是东风之魂。创业42年来,自主创新、自主发展始终贯穿于东风发展历程。创新是东风文化的基因提起创新,东风人有许多值得骄傲的回忆。最让老一代东风人自豪的,是东风人自筹资金建设“二汽”的事情。当年,在国家经济调整、决定停缓建设二汽的时候,东风人表现出了超常的创新意识,提出只要国家给政策,他们自筹资金建设二汽。就这样,东风人凭着改革的胆略和智慧,硬是将一个停建项目建设成为国内最大的汽车生产企业,改写了中国汽车发展的历史。
